Facilities Committee


wood%20block%20print.jpgThe Facilities Committee is responsible for upkeep and improvement on the church grounds.  Current members are Deann Alleman (chair), Jim Jenkins, Warren Banner, Lucy Thelin Atac, and Marko Spiegel.  The Committee meets every other month, except for the months of June, July, and August (see calendar for exact meeting dates).

Facilities Committee Charges
1.  To recommend for Board approval, long range, short range and emergency plans for the interior, exterior, and landscape elements of the church facilities based on:
     * the intended use;
     * aesthetic design and considerations;
     * the historical heritage (in conjunction with the Heritage Committee) and
     * compliance with facilities plans previously approved by the Board
     * coordination with the Long Range Planning Committee

2.  To assure the operation and maintenance of the church facilities and grounds are consistent with the long-term facilities plans as approved by the Board
     * To maintain all physical property of the church by arranging and supervising professional and volunteer services and supplies for church buildings and grounds including:
     * housekeeping and janitorial;
     * maintenance and repairs
     * grounds-keeping (including lawn mowing and snow/ice removal); extermination services as needed;
     * physical plant and maintenance supplies and
     * furniture (including purchasing, repair, relocation and disposal as needed)

3.  To coordinate with the Administrative Council Vice President to assure that church buildings are in compliance with all applicable building codes

4.  To develop and monitor implementation of project plans, as appropriate, including:
     * preparation of written documentation and/or specifications;
     * development of budgets;
     * gathering of cost estimates; and
     * coordinating with the Administrative Council Vice President to assure liability insurance coverage for the project and workers
